As of Pocket Tunes 5.3, you can purchase an upgrade to the AAC+ version 1 plugin to the aacPlus Version 2 plug in. This plugin provides:
- CD-quality stereo down to 48 kbps
- Near CD-quality stereo at 32 kbps
- Excellent quality stereo down to 24 kbps
- Widest available audio bandwidth
- Optimized speech, mixed speech/music down to 8 kbps mono

You should not need to activate the plugin, it is automatic. If you have purchased the plugin and it does appear as described below, please see the troubleshooting at the end of this article.
If you purchased Pocket Tunes before version 5.3 then the plugin is included in Pocket Tunes. If you have made an in App purchase of the plugin, it is automatically activated as soon as the transaction is complete. You do not need to install or do anything.
You can tell whether Pocket Tunes is using the high quality aacPlus V2 plugin by what it says in the upper right corner when playing an AAC stream.
If you are using the aacPlus version 2 high quality plugin from Dolby Labs, Pocket Tunes will say the bitrate followed by "Hi-Fi aacPlus" in the upper right corner as shown in this image below:

If you are using the AAC+ version 1 plugin that comes standard with Pocket Tunes Radio, then you would see the bitrate followed by "AAC+" as shown in the image below:

Troubleshooting:
A) If you have purchased the aacPlus v2 plugin and it is not appearing in Pocket Tunes, please try the following:
- Go to the "Search" tab in Pocket Tunes Radio
- In the search window, enter "pt//ctaac" (without the quotes)
- Now tap "Search" on the keyboard
- Pocket Tunes should say "The High Fidelity aacPlus decoder wills now be used for all AAC and aacPlus stations"
