I cannot login to XM on-line radio, what do I do?

- This article Applies to the Apple iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch only -

Ensure that you are following the login directions for XM as per this Knowledge Base article.

You must  have a valid XM on-line Radio subscription to be able to access the XM channels.

The authentication is done by XM itself so if you are getting a message that the login is not correct then there is something amiss with the information you are entering. Can log into your account with the XM media player here: http://xmro.xmradio.com/xstream/index.jsp ? Check that you can log in to the mobile.musicdock.com on your computer. With many XM accounts the login for your account can be different from your login for your XM On-line Radio account.

If you are not able to login to the XM media player on the computer then you need to contact XM to determine the correct login for access to the XM on-line radio service.

Pocket Tunes is not doing any authentication, it is done entirely by XM themselves. We have seen cases where someone used the trial version of XM on-line, then XM gave them different login information when they purchased the subscription service so they had to clear out the login form the trial. The steps below will clear that out.

We suggest trying to login to the XM Player and MusicDock, on the computer and make sure that it works there.

Then on Pocket Tunes, clear the cookies so that we can start fresh.

Do the following:

  1) Before playing a station, go to the Search tab of Pocket Tunes Radio
  2) Enter "pt://delcookies" (without the quotes)
  3) Press "Search" in the lower right corner

Now exit Pocket Tunes and return. Select an XM station and you should be asked to login. Login and see if the station plays.

If it does not, repeat the steps but first start our debugging routine:

  1) Before playing a station, go to the Search tab of Pocket Tunes Radio
  2) Enter "pt://debug" (without the quotes)
  3) Press "Search" in the lower right corner
  4) Now recreate the issue that you are seeing
  5) Once the issue has occurred at least once, wait a couple of minutes, go back to the "Search" tab
  6) Enter "pt:put" (again without quotes)
  7) Press the "Search" button
  8) Send us a quick email in support, http://www.pocket-tunes.com/scripts/support.php, to let us know that the log has been sent.

That sends a log to us that we can analyze here.
