Can I play Live365 (VIP or non VIP) stations with Pocket Tunes Radio?

- This article Applies to the Apple iPhone and/or iPod Touch only -

Please Note:

Live365.com has made a recent change that prevents Pocket Tunes Radio version 5.2.2 or earlier, from being able to play many Live365 channels. We have a fix coming that will allow you to play the stations once again, so please check back to this Knowledge Base article once the update has been approved by Apple.

The following steps are valid for both VIP and non-VIP stations.

IMPORTANT! Before you try to play a Live365 station using the following steps, you MUST set up Live365 as per the instructions in this Knowledge Base article. Please do this before proceeding.

Note: To play VIP stations you must have a paid Live365 subscription.

  1. Go to the Web tab in Pocket Tunes Radio
  2. Enter www.live365.com
  3. Once there, login to your account, the login is in the upper right corner, you may need to expand the page a bit.

  4. Now find a station you want to play. It can be any station but note that the VIP stations have a gold play logo so you need a paid Live365 subscription to play those.
  5. In the following example we picked a station from the "Presets" area (stations you saved to your account).

    - Pick a station to play and tap the yellow or gold circle with the triangle in it
    - This will start the station loading
  6. IMPORTANT: You will get a pop up like the one below. It is expected and nothing to be concerned about, just tap "OK" on the pop up.

    - You need to dismiss this pop up to allow Pocket Tunes to proceed to load the station
  7. After a few seconds you will see the page change to the Live365 player and then Pocket Tunes "Loading Audio" pop up will appear

    - Pocket Tunes will be loading the station, it can take a little longer than normal so be patient.
    - You can press "Hide" to make the pop up disappear, Pocket Tunes Radio will still load the station.
  8. The station will start playing and if you go to the Now Playing screen you will see it there.

    - Tap the "Add to Favorites" icon to add the station to your favorites
  9. Note that stations saved to Favorites will be in the "Web" area of your Favorites.
  10. When you load the station from Favorites it will load the Web tab but Pocket Tunes Radio will automatically load the station so you only have to tap once for it to load.
