As of version 5.2 of Pocket Tunes Radio, you can play XM radio. We added support for Web-based stations and this allows you to play stations that normally require you to be using a PC rather than a mobile device.
| As of version 5.2.2 of Pocket Tunes Radio, the XM stations have been added to the catalog. Make sure you have updated to 5.2.2 from the App Store. |
Here are the steps to do that:
**Note: You must have a paid subscription to XM Radio Online to use this with Pocket Tunes Radio. Only PREMIUM radio accounts can stream at up to 128K. If you have what is termed by XM a "Free" account it will only stream to a maximum of 32Kbps. Trial accounts will stream at the Premium speeds.
- Go to Pocket Tunes Radio and select the XM Group from the "Groups" section
If you do not see the XM group, make sure you are using version 5.2.2 or higher and that you have updated the catalog (see this Knowledge Base article on how to manually update your catalog).
- Select a station you want to play
- Pocket Tunes will take you to the login page pictured below. (If you are already logged in, Pocket Tunes will still take you to the web tab but it will start loading the station)

- Enter your email address for your XM Radio on-line account
- Enter your Password
| IMPORTANT: You may have two passwords, one for your main XM account and one for on-line listening. You MUST use the on-line password. Contact XM radio if you do not know your on-line password. |
- Tap the "Remember Me" box so that you do not have to log in again
tap "Login" - Once you are logged in, Pocket Tunes will load the station you had selected. You will then see a pop up that says "Loading Audio"

- You can leave the window up or press "Hide" to dismiss it. Either way the station will load
- Press "Now Playing" to go back to the main screen. - You will now see the XM station playing on the main screen, and of course you should be hearing it as well.

- Tap the "Add to Favorites" icon to add the station to your favorites. this allows a single tap to load the station next time you want to play it. - When a Web Based station like an XM station is added to Favorites, it is placed in the new "Web" section of the Pocket Tunes Radio Favorites.

- Note that when you select a station from here, it will automatically load the station but unlike other favorites, the web tab will be opened in Pocket Tunes Radio. However the station will automatically load, there is nothing you need to do once you have selected the station fro your Favorites.
That's it, you now should be listening to your XM stations. Note that Pocket Tunes Radio can only play stations XM makes available for Internet streaming via the web.
