Is there any difference between Pocket Tunes Deluxe on the Sprint or Verizon Centro and the regular Pocket Tunes Deluxe?

For Palm OS only:

Applies to:Pocket Tunes 4.x.x
Deluxe
Devices:Sprint Centro ONLY
Computer Operating SystemNot Applicable

Here are some things to be aware of about your Sprint or Verizon Centro version of Pocket Tunes deluxe:

  1. The version number is 4.0.4 so DO NOT install any version of Pocket Tunes less than version 4.0.5. If you install a version below 4.0.4, you will lose some of the functions and features of Pocket Tunes Deluxe. For example you may not be able to put Pocket Tunes into MTP mode, or the screen off function may no longer work. Just delete Pocket Tunes using the 'Delete' function found in the menu of the 'Applications' program of your device. That will restore Pocket Tunes to the version included with your device.

NOTE: If you restored your programs from a previous Palm to your Centro, you may have inadvertently installed an older version of Pocket Tunes. In this case delete as per the instructions in the above paragraph.

  2. With the version of Pocket Tunes that was custom made for the Centro, streaming from the browser is done by another application that is included with your Centro. Pocket Tunes cannot stream from the browser, only from within Pocket Tunes using the Internet Radio features. However if you install the latest version of Pocket Tunes and follow the directions in this Knowledge Base article, you can enable Pocket Tunes to be the streaming software from the browser.

If you do not wish to install the latest version of Pocket Tunes 4, you do have a few options if you want to add stations not in the Pocket Tunes Internet Radio Catalogue:
Manually enter the web address for Internet Radio stations directly into the Pocket Tunes Internet radio area. For information on how to do that, see this Knowledge Base article.
Create a playlist of stations that you import to Pocket Tunes. We have a Knowledge Base article here that goes through your options.

  3. Skins - The Sprint and Verizon Centro version of Pocket Tunes Deluxe fully supports skins. Included with your device is the special skin customized for Palm. But you can also visit our Skins page here to choose from dozens and dozens of other skins, including the 'Sleek' series of skins that were added for the release of Pocket Tunes 4. See the online User Guide here for information on installing skins.

  4. Ogg and Wav plugins are not included. If you want to play WAV or Ogg files, you can download the plugins from our mobile site. You can download them directly to your phone. Just make sure you save them to Internal memory, NOT your SD card. You can also download the plugins from the mobile site to your PC, then HotSync them to your Centro using Quick Install. Again, make sure the plugins are transferred to your Internal memory.

  5. Volume Boost is disabled for the built in version of Pocket Tunes Deluxe on the Sprint and Verizon Centro.
