With Windows Media Player 11 your Playlists are synced as long as you either drag and drop the PLAYLIST to the device or you set up an autosync of the playlist to the device. See the Windows Media Player 11 User Guide for more information on Autosync.
The following ONLY applies to Windows Media Player 10 (see above for Windows Media Player 11)
With Windows Media Player 10, it does not actually send over the playlist; it sends over each file one-by-one. If you're using Windows Media Player 10, you can copy the playlist to Pocket Tunes by doing the following:
NOTE: If you are using Windows Media Player to transfer the files, and Pocket Tunes is in MTP mode, you must use Auto Sync. Otherwise use the Legacy communication method to transfer the files (Legacy is not available in Windows Media Player 11). If you are transferring via a Card reader, transfer all the files to the /Audio folder of the card. If you are using HotSync, the files will automatically go to the correct location.
1. Click on the Library tab of Windows Media Player
2. Select the Playlist you want to transfer, double click it to put it in the 'Now Playing' area of Windows Media Player.
3. You will see the name of your current playlist in the upper-right corner with a little dropdown arrow next to it.
4. Select "File" in the Windows Media Player menu and then "Save Current Playlist as..."
5. Next to "Save as type", pick "M3U Playlist (*.m3u)"
6. Next to "File name", enter the name of the playlist and click "Save".
Note: If you still need to transfer the tracks in the Playlist, right click on the Playlist in the Library tab and choose 'Add to sync list', then go to the 'Sync' tab and transfer the tracks. Proceed to the next steps to send your playlist to Pocket Tunes.
Transfer Playlist to Pocket Tunes:
1. Using Windows Explorer, find the m3u file that you just saved.
2. Drag and drop the m3u file to the Expansion Card window of the install tool (Quick Install usually).
3. Perform a HotSync operation.
4. In Pocket Tunes, choose "Manage Playlists" (in the Pocket Tunes menu under 'Actions') and select your playlist.
