What features are not available when I use Pocket Tunes on a Windows Mobile device?

While most of the features of Pocket Tunes are available to Windows Mobile users there are some limitations. These are outlined below.

Currently Pocket Tunes officially supports the Treo 700w on the Windows Mobile platform. Though it may function on other Windows Mobile device, it has not been extensively tested on any other device.

Please note that you must be using StyleTap to use Pocket Tunes on your Windows Mobile device.

  • Support for playback of copy protected files like those from Online Stores ( eg. Napster, Yahoo and Rhapsody)  and libraries

  • The screen turn off function and the preference, “Turn screen off while playing after XX minutes” are not supported, however your device will dim the screen after a set time to conserve battery life

  • High Resolution skins cannot be used due to the lower resolution on the 700w, use only low resolution skins (160X160). You can find some here

  • The Treo volume buttons modify the system volume instead of the Pocket Tunes volume.

  • The preference setting "Bring up console with button" does not function in the Windows Mobile version of Pocket Tunes.

  • Internet Audio streaming is supported however you cannot access the streams via the browser, you have to manually enter the URL in Pocket Tunes or transfer an M3U playlist file with Internet Audio stations in it, to your device.
  • Music must be stored on the SD storage card, Pocket Tunes cannot access music stored in internal (or Main) memory of the device
