For Palm OS Only:
| Applies to: | Pocket Tunes 3.x.x or 4.x.x |
| Deluxe or Basic |
| Devices: | All supported devices |
| Computer Operating System: | Not Applpicable |
If you have installed Pocket Tunes Deluxe or Basic and find that it occasionally reverts back to the version that came with your Palm or becomes unregistered, there are a couple of reasons why that may occur.
Reason #1: You are using a third party launcher program. (applies to devices that came with Pocket Tunes built in only)
Some launchers do not select the correct version of Pocket Tunes when they launch it. Instead they launch the built in version. So if you are using any of the following launchers, they may launch the wrong version of Pocket Tunes when you use them. This would also erase the Registration Code on your registered version so the next time you launch it, it will show as unregistered.
Here are some launchers that we have found will do this.
- WinLauncher (displays built in AND updated/registered version, if you click on built in version you will likely get a reset)
- Older versions of HiLauncher (version 3.3 or higher seems to be fine)
Note that it is a bug in the launcher program so there is nothing we can do to correct it. The fix must come form the developers of the launcher program.
Reason #2: Pocket Tunes is installed on the SD card and Internal Memory.
We recommend that you have Pocket Tunes installed in Main (Internal) memory only. Other wise you could inadvertently launch the built in version of Pocket Tunes since the Palm OS will consider the built in version as a separate program from the one on the SD card. So make sure you only have Pocket Tunes installed in one location.
