Tracks from Online stores stop playing after the first HotSync

There are a certain instances when you may find your tracks from an online store become inaccessible in Pocket Tunes.

This particular situation ONLY will happen if:

  1. You have never HotSynced the device before you transferred songs from an online store

  2. You either downloaded Pocket Tunes directly to the device or it was beamed to your Palm from another device.

  3. After you transferred the songs, you then did your first HotSync

  4. You have an older model of Palm like a Tungsten T, or E or Zire 71

In this case, after the Hotsync, you will no longer be able to play your tracks from the online store.

DO NOT ATTEMPT THE FOLLOWING FIX UNLESS YOUR SITUATION MATCHES THE ABOVE 4 POINTS.

To fix this, on your device, you need to delete any songs you have transferred from online stores. Then, if you have a T5 or LifeDrive: Using your File Transfer/LifeDrive Manager program on the desktop you can go into the Internal Flash/Drive and find the folder Palm/programs/Pocket Tunes and delete the file in there that starts with 'store.hds'. Do the same for the SD card if you have one. All Other Devices: using a program like FileZ (available for free from www.nosleep.net) go to the SD card and find the folder Palm/programs/Pocket Tunes and delete the file in there that starts with 'store.hds'.

Then, delete this file 'pTunes dev cert.pdb'. You can use the 'Delete' function found in the menu of the 'Applications' program of your device to delete it.
