Most likely you were playing M4A files in the trial version, then purchased a Basic code. M4A support is a feature of Deluxe, however the trial is fully functioning, so you can play M4A files in the Trial. Once you purchase a Basic code and enter it in the "About Pocket Tunes" screen to activate your software, all your M4A files will seem to "disappear" and you will not be able to see or play them anymore. You may also get an error message when you start Pocket Tunes again for the first time after entering your Basic code if you were playing a M4A file when you last used Pocket Tunes.
You can upgrade to Deluxe to play your M4A files by visiting www.pocket-tunes.com/purchase.html and clicking the link to Upgrade. If you would prefer not to upgrade, you can convert your M4A files to one of our other supported formats, MP3, OGG or uncompressed WAV. dBpowerAMP (available at www.dbpoweramp.com) is a very good audio converter. It is very easy to use and they include a free Trial so that you can try it first.
You will also need to delete the M4A files from your expansion card if you choose not to upgrade because they are just taking up valuable space there. You can use FileZ (available as a free download from www.palmgear.com) to browse your card and delete the M4A files.
