Applies to:Pocket Tunes 3.x.x or 4.x.x
Deluxe or Trial
Devices:All supported devices
Computer Operating System:Any OS

To create a playlist of Internet Stations using a DESKTOP computer:

1. Open the browser on your desktop to the web site you want to stream and get it to a page of stations you want
2. Open Notepad
3. In notepad, this MUST be the first line in the file: #EXTM3U
4. Every stream must have #EXTINF:-1, *stream name* in it where, the *stream name* can be whatever you want so that you know what the stream is you are about to copy in.
5. Locate the  link to the stream you want to listen to. In www.shoutcast.com this is the 'Tune In' button. On other sites this can be called 'Listen Live' or other similar names. NOTE: Make sure you are selecting an MP3, AAC or Ogg stream. Pocket Tunes does not currently support WMA or ASX streams.
6. Once you locate the link to the stream you want, press the RIGHT mouse button
6. If you use Internet Explorer, select 'Copy', if you are using FireFox select 'Copy Link Location'
7. Go back to the file in notepad and paste the link on the line below the one that starts #EXTINF...it should look something like this:

#EXTINF:-1,Stream 1
http://www.shoutcast.com/sbin/shoutcast-playlist.pls?rn=4857&file=filename.pls

8. Repeat steps 4 through 7 for as many streams as you want and you should have something like this:

#EXTM3U
#EXTINF:-1,Stream 1
http://www.shoutcast.com/sbin/shoutcast-playlist.pls?rn=4857&file=filename.pls
#EXTINF:-1, Stream 2
http://www.shoutcast.com/sbin/shoutcast-playlist.pls?rn=239701&file=filename.pls
#EXTINF:-1,Stream 3
http://www.shoutcast.com/sbin/shoutcast-playlist.pls?rn=6601&file=filename.pls
#EXTINF:-1,Stream 4
http://www.shoutcast.com/sbin/shoutcast-playlist.pls?rn=318395&file=filename.pls
#EXTINF:-1,Stream 5
http://www.shoutcast.com/sbin/shoutcast-playlist.pls?rn=738782&file=filename.pls
#EXTINF:-1,Stream 6
http://www.shoutcast.com/sbin/shoutcast-playlist.pls?rn=55211&file=filename.pls
#EXTINF:-1,Stream 7
http://www.shoutcast.com/sbin/shoutcast-playlist.pls?rn=2297&file=filename.pls

9. Save this file in the M3U file format by clicking 'File' then 'Save as' in notepad. You will see *.txt highlighted, type the file name with .m3u at the end of it and save it.
10. Using Palm Quick install drag the file you just saved to the SD card window and drop it there. For most devices you will need to have an SD card in the slot of your device when you hot sync to have the file transfer. The only exceptions are the T5 and LifeDrive which do not need to have a card inserted for the file to transfer.
11. Hot Sync and the file is transferred to your device.

To access this file, simply go to Pocket Tunes, select the Actions menu and then 'Manage Playlists'. Pocket Tunes may do a quick search but once done it will list the playlist you made by the title you gave the file.

Select the playlist and it will load the first station and start playing it after it has connected. You can navigate to other stations as if they were songs, just press skip forward or back and the other station will load after a moment for it to connect.

NOTE: for this to work you must have an Internet connection via WiFi, Bluetooth or your cellular phone service.
