Here are the steps to transfer songs from Rhapsody to your Palm device. If you have a Rhapsody To Go account or are transferring purchased tracks, you must be using Pocket Tunes Deluxe. We recommend using Rhapsody 3 but we have noted instructions for Rhapsody 3 users as well.
1. Make sure you have run the Pocket Tunes Installer exe file on your desktop PC. If you have not, it is available from here. Follow the setup instructions in our online User Guide here http://www.pocket-tunes.com/pockettunes/docs/readme.html
2. Ensure you are logged into your Rhapsody To Go account if you want to transfer subscription content. If you want to transfer songs you have purchased outright then you can be logged into Rhapsody Unlimited or Rhapsody To Go. If you do not have an account you can sign up for one at www.Rhapsody.com.
3. Now make sure you are NOT in Pocket Tunes and then plug your device into the USB cable
4. Now open Pocket Tunes. On your desktop you should then get a window pop up asking you to choose a Media Player. If Rhapsody is listed, select it, Rhapsody should then launch. If it is not, select "take no action" and then press OK. Then Launch Rhapsody from the Start menu. Meanwhile Palm Pocket Tunes should have a white and green screen that says "Communicating with PC, Please Wait"
5. After Rhapsody launches and signs in (or you manually sign in to your account), you should see something that says Palm (or palmOne) MTP Device or the name of your device or SD card. There are a few possible names but generally it will be listed on the left hand side in the window beneath your login ID. (NOTE: if you have a LifeDrive or T5 and an SD card in the slot there will actually be two listings, one for the SD card and one for your onboard memory)
6. Click on the Palm device in the left upper window, this starts Rhapsody initializing the device. If you have more than one listing, click on the one you want to transfer files to.
7. Now find a song you wish to transfer from 'My Library' if you have not downloaded any songs yet, select one to download and once it is complete it will be in 'My Library'
8. Click on the song you wish to transfer and drag it to the device and release. Rhapsody should start transferring the track and Pocket Tunes will say that is is communicating with the PC and receiving the file.
For Rhapsody 3:
- Drag the track to the Transfer tab in the lower left window of Rhapsody, release it and that title will be added to the transfer line.
- Click on the transfer tab so that it is displayed in the lower left. On the bottom right of that window is a button that says "Transfer" click that button and your transfer will begin. The Palm should now have two lines on it, in addition to the one mentioned above, it will now also say "Communicating, do not disconnect" or "Receiving file, do not disconnect" both are valid.
9. Rhapsody will acquire the license and initiate the transfer, it will readout percentages while it transfers over to your device, then when it's done it will say complete.
At this point you should have the song on your device. If at any time the something goes wrong in the process, let us know what the error message is and at what point it occurred. We can then recommend what to try in order to fix it. Contact us through http://www.pocket-tunes.com/scripts/support.php .
